AMGAS is currently seeking a temporary full-time Accounting Assistant for maternity leave coverage to join our administration department. This position provides support to the Controller. If you are a professional with AR/AP experience who is self-driven to complete tasks, extremely organized and willing to collaborate in a team-oriented organization where you can make an impact, come join our team. Please note this position is currently a daily in-office position.
This position is responsible for, but not limited to:
- Administration duties as required
- Assisting in all admin positions including AR and AP
- Reconciliation of all bank and credit card accounts for company divisions
- Preparation of all GST/PST/State tax returns
- Daily foreign exchange maintenance in Sage X3
- Reporting as required to internal and external stakeholders
- Asset Management
- File Management
- Other duties as may be assigned
Knowledge & Skills:
- Providing customer and personal services, this includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- The ability to recognize a problem and come with a solution for resolution
- Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, and verifying information or data
- A willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges
- Careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks
- Requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude
- Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges
- Analyzing information and using logic to address work-related issues and problems
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Post-Secondary Education in Accounting is an asset
- 2-3 years of full cycle accounting experience
- Sage X3 experience is an asset
- SalesForce/Service Echo experience is an asset
- Open Invoice/Cortex experience is an asset
