POSITION OVERVIEW:
In this role, you will be an integral part of the accounting close responsible for the Global Fixed Asset portfolio including the calculation of the firm’s Internal Capital Labor rates and related Journal Entries. In addition, you will be responsible for the preparation of Prepaid journal entries and related schedules for the North America region, Balance Sheet reconciliations for key accounts, and various schedules to support the firm’s internal customers. You will be an agent of change focused on improving processes through the formulation of ideas and a plan to execute on them. A thought leader who will operate independently to make key decisions based on your accounting experience and knowledge of the firm’s business objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Record, reconcile, and maintain all general ledger activity related to fixed assets including processing additions, disposals, and intercompany transfers.
- Calculate, record, and analyze internal and external labor hours related to internal-use software development capitalization. Provide direction and guidance on classification of CAPEX vs. OPEX accounting treatment.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing a detailed analysis of the monthly variance for Fixed Assets.
- Record monthly accruals pertaining to subcontractors, unpaid vendor invoices, and internal database charges.
- Prepare and maintain Prepaid schedules for the North America region ensuring that expense is appropriately recognized and recorded over the requisite service period.
- Prepare and/or review supporting workpapers that are provided to the company’s external auditors in connection with the annual audit process.
- Actively participate in Microsoft Dynamics 365 training sessions with the focus on knowledge transfer to existing team members across finance.
- Oversight of the company’s Balance Sheet Control Matrix ensuring Account Reconciliations are prepared and approved within the established timeline. Perform quarterly audit of key Account Reconciliations to provide assurance that reconciliations are being prepared/reviewed in strict compliance with policy.
- Partner with key stakeholders from the Finance organization to ensure compliance with company accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 5 - 7 years of relevant experience
- CPA (Strongly Preferred).
- Lawson Financials or Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience desired, Advanced Excel skills required.
- Detail oriented with a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proven track record for driving process efficiencies and solving problems.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and work independently while collaborating with relevant teams as necessary to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
- Capacity to work with cross-functional peers and other members of management.
