Position Summary
Rock Insurance Brokers Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in Marystown, NL. This position will be responsible for the preparation of financial reports and other financial analysis for the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, as well as strong analytical skills. This position will report directly to the Controller and will be responsible for supporting the monthly close process.
Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements for various entities and companies
- Prepare financial reports for various entities and companies
- Prepare financial analyses and forecasts for various entities and companies
- Prepare cash flow forecasts for various entities and companies
- Prepare ad hoc reports as needed
- Review, analyze, and reconcile journal entries, expense reports, and other reports from various departments
- Assist with annual audit process including preparing documents, reviewing documentation, coordinating with other departments, etc.
- Assist with annual budget process including preparing estimates, budgets, etc.
- Assist with forecasting processes including forecasting sales projections, etc.
- Assist with budget reconciliation and analysis as needed
- Other duties as assigned by Controller
Education & Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or similar field required; Master’s degree preferred. Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus. Experience in the general business environment is also a plus. Experience in working with QuickBooks is a plus. Experience with general ledger accounting is preferred. Experience with ERP software (e.g., Sage) is a plus.
Compensation: Competitive base salary + benefits
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $52,712.28-$75,744.48 per year
