Responsible to a designated Associate or Senior Associate at The Corner Office and working in a team environment, this position is required to provide senior technical accounting assistance in the form of tasks and activities for a variety of clients who require accounting and financial management support. The clients consist of medium and small-sized firms or companies from a wide range of occupations and industries.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient in using and applying current and new technologies in all aspects of work
- Post-secondary education and/or diploma in accounting, financial management and/or payroll
- Enrolled in and working towards CPA designation (required to move into Associate position; not required if career goal is to remain in Senior Accountant position)
- Knowledge of and experience using current accounting and payroll software, and MS Office Suite
- Broad experience in bookkeeping and journal entries for medium and small-sized businesses
- Broad experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable and tax remittances
- Broad experience in preparing reconciliations for credit card, loans and/or bank accounts
- Broad experience in preparing and interpreting financial statements and reports including balance sheets and point of sale (POS) reports
- Broad experience in payroll preparation including determining and remitting source deductions
- Organized and detail oriented to produce high quality work and to meet frequent deadlines and tight timelines
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively prioritize work assignments
- Customer service focused and experience in managing client relationships based on trust and credibility
- Ability to be efficient and effective while working independently
- Demonstrated capacity to learn and assume responsibility for increasingly complex tasks and assignments
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and have a positive impact on others
- Ability to be discrete and confidential
