Job Description
Accounts payable activities are completed ensuring consistency, accuracy and thoroughness and adherence to Participation House Markham policies.
Responsibilities
- Administer full cycle Accounts Payable processing and data entry
- Match invoices with packing slips and POs; ensure appropriate signatures and approvals are obtained
- Vendor account access and monthly payables (e.g., Hydro, Rent)
- Enter invoices and post entries into applicable system
- Process residents’ monthly payments (personal items)
- Maintain subsidiary ledgers for Residents Trust Fund, including banking, payment of bills, monthly and required reports for the Client Personal Support Meetings.
- Maintain and update all accounting filing systems according to programs and operations of the organization.
- Other general accounting support as required
Qualifications
- Formal Accounting education an asset
- Experience in a non-profit environment an asset
- Proficient in using QuickBooks accounting system
- Expert user of Excel and other MS office products
- Strong time management and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment
