Job Description

We are Canada’s most experienced rescue and safety training company, providing professional, performance based rescue and safety training for over 40 years and are an active equipment sales, rental and repair specialist in the rescue community.

Rescue Canada is looking for a dynamic individual, who is eager to gain valuable business experience in the safety and rescue industry. This role will be based out of our company headquarters in Chilliwack, BC.

This Administrative Assistant role will report directly to the General Manager/Sales Manager and will work across 2 departments – Sales and Office Operations. This is a fulltime position, requiring the candidate to be present between 8-4, Monday-Friday.

When working in the Sales Department, responsibilities would include, but not be limited to:

· Placing purchase orders with suppliers while verifying specifications and prices; obtains recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; communicating with the Sales Manager regarding price and delivery

· Packaging and shipping all orders sold by the sales manager

· Contacting the clients with tracking information and POD when necessary

· Verifying Stock levels

· Receiving inbound shipments

· Assist with sales administrative duties as needed

· Social Media posting and engagement

· Assist in planning tradeshows and travel

· Willing to operate a tradeshow booth

When working in the Office Operations Department, responsibilities would include, but not be limited to:

· Complete operational administrative tasks as assigned,

· Liaise with vendors via phone or email

· Create documents for vendors and clients alike, whether PDF, Word docs or Spreadsheets

· Coordinating meetings

· Track and fill out expense report – collect receipts and code purpose of receipts

· Communicate with website developers for the creation of the new website and for the maintenance of the site after completion

· Develop and send out monthly newsletters to subscription list.

Qualifications include:

· High-school diploma or equivalent prior work experience

· Strong communication and organizational skills

· Experience with Microsoft Office (primarily Outlook, Word, and Excel.)

· Experience using Quickbooks online is an asset but is not required.

· Experience using Adobe Photoshop is an asset but is not required.

· Outstanding time management skills

· An ability to conduct oneself with discretion and confidentiality

· Possess a can-do attitude

· Adaptable and willing to learn new processes, systems and skills

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
