The Role:
As our Childcare Administrator you'll be responsible for:- Performing accounting tasks, including payroll, account reconciliation, and banking.
- Creating monthly invoices, tracking accounts receivable.
- Setting up projects in accounting, time tracking, and collaboration systems.
- Supporting onboarding/offboarding of employees.
- Compiling daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to accounting.
- Performing administrative tasks to manage the organization, such as ordering supplies.
- Financial statement creation.
- Creating notices for employees.
- Enrolling new staff into the benefits plan.
- Making sure the employees understand the company's benefits packages, the administration system, and their employment rights and options.
Here are some of the skills we're looking for:- Proven experience in accounts payable/accounts receivable roles.
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and payroll rules and regulations.
- Familiarity with group booking software such as Amilia.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to multitask, and work under time constraints.
- Able to solve problems, and work well independently, under the direction.
- Preference for individuals with post-secondary education in business administration, accounting, or a related field.
- Preference for individuals with an understanding of childcare regulations, specifically regarding childcare subsidies.
Who Are We?
Saplings Outdoor Program is an established forest school located throughout the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples–Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations (Lower Mainland). We operate numerous preschools, afterschool care programs, daycares, and a primary school.

Our forest school educators are passionate individuals with a deep respect for childhood and reverence for the natural world. Educators will work in a variety of natural landscapes such as forests, ocean sides, and parks as they inspire play and follow the children’s lead to discover the world around them. At Saplings, time is flexible. We value slowing the pace of the day to give children time and space to learn, form caring relationships and connect with the natural world.
