The intent of this process is to fill five (5) indeterminate positions in the following locations:
- Ottawa, ON (4)
- Halifax, NS (1)
This process may also be used to fill other current and future vacancies in various locations with various employment tenures and language profiles within the department of National Defence.

A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience
- Based on their education, training and/or experience, indeterminate incumbents of positions in the IS classification are deemed to meet the minimum education standard whenever a bachelor’s degree without specialization is called for in a position classified as IS.
Degree equivalency
Experience providing communications advice and services to senior management and clients
Experience developing and/or implementing at least four (4) of the following communications products: speaking notes/speeches, briefing material, fact sheets, exhibits, news releases, media lines, web content, social media posts, news articles, placemats, posters.
Experience coordinating and synchronizing deliverables (communication products) across various levels of an organization.
Various language requirements

For IS-05 only: Experience supervising the work of employees, students, contractors or casual employees.

Communication
- Being able to communicate effectively is a skill that allows you to understand and be understood by others. These can include but are not limited to effectively communicating ideas to others and actively listening in conversations.
A degree from a recognized university with specialization in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, or public administration or any other field related to the position.
Degree equivalency
Experience planning, executing and managing multiple outreach events and stakeholder relations.
Experience working within the Department of National Defence.
Experience with multimedia (video) content production.
Experience with podcast production.
