We are on a quest to find an innovative Senior Backend Developer to enrich one of our dynamic squads. You'll be contributing to the growth and evolution of Lightspeed's Hospitality product group, supporting our objective of extending our influence into new markets and regions, while concurrently fortifying our comprehensive hospitality commerce platform.
In this exciting role, you'll become a valued member of the Onboarding and Configuration squad, a devoted team focused on refining and enriching the client initiation process. Our mission is to guarantee a smooth and enlightening start to our customer's journey, while customizing our platform to meet the individual needs of each user, thereby enabling them to effectively enhance and streamline their business operations. Our ultimate vision is to ensure our flagship product perfectly resonates with our targeted audience across the EMEA and NOAM regions.
You'll be joining a lively, collaborative team that is consistently refining our engineering practices, deploying cutting-edge technology, and keeping the work environment engaging and enjoyable. What you'll be responsible for:
- Collaborate with some of the industry's most adept minds, enhancing our omnichannel product through the development of innovative features and workflows.
- Enrich and extend our product capabilities by contributing to our AWS-hosted, microservice-based platform.
- Juggle responsibilities between crafting new features and maintaining existing integrations with partners, prioritizing new feature development as we continuously venture into new markets.
- Report to the Development Team Lead, maintaining robust interaction with Product Managers, Product Designers, and Platform Teams.
- Participate in daily agile ceremonies, ignite innovation that challenges the status quo, and actualize solution-oriented ideas.
- Advocate for superior code quality and accountability, contributing actively to infrastructure health.
- Foster growth within your team by disseminating knowledge and best practices, while perpetually striving for advancement and progression.
What you'll be bringing to the team:
- Outstanding Java knowledge with 5+ years of production usage experience
- Expert knowledge of the Spring framework.
- A solid foundation of knowledge in computer science
- Proficiency in English, exhibiting effective communication skills.
What will increase your chances:
- One additional backend language (Python, Go)
- Experience writing automated unit and functional tests
- Experience working in an Agile development environment
- Experience with cloud environments like GCP, AWS, and cloud solutions like Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
- Experience with real-time messaging systems (Pub/Sub, Kafka, etc.)
- Experience with both relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases
- Computer Sciences degree or equivalent
