Job Description

Hillside Pines is a long term care facility that cares for 50 Elders in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia.

The incumbent is responsible for established payroll and benefits procedures and providing administrative and basic HR support to the Business Office and Healthcare Teams. Responsible and accountable for the organization of office efficiencies, including IT coordination/ trouble shooting, management of all employee personnel records in addition to training as a backup support of accounting processes and procedures at the facility. Completes all other related duties as assigned by the Director of Finance and/or Administrator.

ACCOUNTABLE TO

· Director of Finance

· Hours of Work: 40 hours per week- Monday to Friday, based on the needs of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Certificate in Business Administration or equivalent with working knowledge of payroll practices, including computerized payroll procedures.

· Proven experience in a busy office environment. -

· General knowledge of accounting principles.

· Knowledge of Sage 300 is an asset

· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and related software packages. Proven ability to support others with IT challenges.

· Working knowledge of NSHEPP pension plan an asset.

· Experience in working with the elderly is an asset.

· Knowledge of the Eden Alternative philosophy of care and willingness to lead by example with this person-centered initiative.

· Must be able to work independently with critical attention to details of payroll and accounting systems.
