We are looking for qualified candidates to fill the following position:
Digital Designer & Communications Officer
The role of Digital Designer & Communications Officer is to work with the Marketing/Communications team to support ECS in ensuring that it is always prominent on the Montreal, national and international educational landscape.
Position Title: Digital Designer & Communications Officer
Department: Marketing/Communications
Status: Maternity leave replacement, Full-time
Hours: 35 hours per week
Report to: Director of Marketing/Communications
Start Date: July 2023

Specific Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute internal and external design initiatives that demonstrate creative use of colour, photography, illustrations, multimedia, and type, for both print and digital use and in accordance with the school’s current branding
- Ensure that marketing and communications materials reflect the Mission, Vision and Values of ECS
- Support the team to strategize and plan events on an annual basis; provide design assets digital/print in support of these events
- Support the Communications team with content creation; liaise with faculty and staff to identify engaging stories and photo/video opportunities for promotion on the school website and social media
- Provide or arrange for photographic/video/social media coverage of key events, and maintain and oversee the School’s “image bank”
- Ensure that current photographs and visuals represent the culture and ethos of ECS
- Leverage social media tools in order to promote the School to its constituents across various platforms in accordance with the social media strategy
- Support website maintenance by refreshing photos, content and page layout
- Create and distribute the weekly e-newsletter
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- 3-5 years experience working in a similar role
- Excellent oral and written skills; English is required, French is highly desirable
Knowledge, Skills and Technical abilities:
- Post-secondary degree and experience in design, communications, marketing, or related field;
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, design principles;
- Experience with photography and video production;
- Experience using social media networking sites;
- Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite;
- Attention to detail and follow up;
- Respect for the confidential nature of information in the department;
- Exemplary communication skills;
- Interpersonal skills that foster collegiality and reflect the mission of ECS;
