In Your Role You Will
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Communications Specialist is committed to support planning, implementation and evaluation of WJS’s public relations, community outreach, and marketing activities, with the overall goals of helping to raise WJS Canada’s profile in communities. The Communications Specialist will support our company by overseeing our external and internal communications, assist with related administrative tasks, and engage stakeholders in mixed media communications (website, social media, intranet, and newsletter).
- Research, interview and write content for internal and external audiences, under guidance of the WJS Canada leadership team.
- Lead and manage: website, social media, intranet, and newsletter.
- Support internal requests for content changes to collateral material templates while maintaining brand integrity; managing print production as required.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of marketing campaigns including; information gathering, content writing, event and photo/video shoot co-ordination.
- Manage social media activity, delivery of regular newsletters and periodic surveys to stakeholders.
- Maintain marketing assets such as photo & video library, SharePoint presence, stakeholder contact lists.
- Track and interpret impact of communications activity; produce regular reports on marketing activity.

As An Ideal Candidate You Possess
- Diploma or Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or relevant field
- 2-5 years specialized communications experience.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Excellent social media management skills and experience; including organizational and campaign planning abilities.
- WordPress backend knowledge - to make minor changes to website content and design.
- Adobe design skills - to update pre-existing templates and produce print-ready files
- Google Analytics and basic search engine optimization (SEO).
- Well developed computer skills in project management software, video communication applications, Windows and MS and/or Open Office suites, etc.
