Canadian Home Builders’ Associations (CHBA) – Edmonton Region is currently seeking a full-time Communications Manager to join our team! This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape our communications strategy and external presence. As the Communications Manager, you will be primarily responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the CHBA – Edmonton Region’s communications strategy and digital presence. This includes curating our social media and digital communications, managing all written correspondence, and boosting our advocacy and engagement within the Edmonton Region.

What You’ll Do:
1. Develop and implement the Association’s communications strategy.
- Work with internal member committees to improve and support the communications strategy.
- Develop a well-rounded understanding of the industry and a familiarity of the advocacy issues the association experiences.
- Measure and report on the success of the communications strategy.
- Develop unique materials designed to inform, educate and/or advocate on behalf of the Association.
2. Maintain and grow social media presence and brand awareness.
- Maintain all social media accounts including posting, content creation and engagement tracking metrics.
- Develop and implement brand strategy carefully curating target audience, messaging, and brand position within the industry.
- Plan and create content that is engaging and consistent to our established brand.
- Regularly conduct engagement audits to measure success of campaigns and brand strategy, make adjustments as required.
3. Management of all Association internal and external communications
- Design, oversee, track, and evaluate the CHBA – Edmonton Region website and email communications with member (newsletters, Association updates, etc.).
- Provide editorial support for all written materials including speeches, briefs, and presentations.
- Work closely with the Policy and Government Relations Committee Director to write advocacy and technical communications.
4. Member engagement through Communications
- Conduct surveys and compile data on member perspectives and feedback.
- Content curation through meetings, events and other activities including taking photos, videos, etc.
- Provide support as required for events.
5. Develop and maintain media relations on behalf of the Association in alignment with the strategic and communication plans.
6. This role may evolve over time, other duties may be required as assigned by the CEO.
What You Bring:
- Education: Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a communications role or a related role.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident on all relevant Social Media platforms, and ability to remain current on all applicable trends across multiple platforms.
- Innovative, able to develop and implement new communication methods/ practices.
- Well-organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently as well as in a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and continually changing environment.
- Proficient in Adobe Pro and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher etc.).
- Experience working with a custom interface website.
- Graphic design or working knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop abilities is an asset.

3. Occasional off-site meetings. Some in-town travel is required.
4. Will be expected to attend evening and/or early morning events.
5. A valid driver’s license is required.
