Job Description:
The Marketing & Communications Manager is the primary team member responsible for marketing, Habitat Victoria’s online presence, media relations, public relations, and general event management. This position is tasked with maximizing Habitat Victoria’s profile within the community in the most impactful and cost-effective manner.

If you love social media and connecting with your community, this is the role for you! As our Marketing and Communications Manager, you will spend your days collaborating with the Director of Giving and Communications, Senior Leaders, and all other departments. You will play a critical role as part of the ReStore & Fund Development teams, providing strategic decision-making and identifying, leading and executing ideas and projects that will enable Habitat Victoria to enhance its impact, quality programming and build capacity.
This position is responsible for designing and executing a multi-year marketing plan.Oversee the development/expansion and/or improvement of all social media channels. You will actively monitor a variety of platforms and assist with implementing and evaluating communications initiatives. Manage/improve the website and develop and distribute newsletters and other forms of community outreach. Develop and/or oversee all PSAs or other marketing requirements of events such as fundraising, community outreach, and build-related events (e.g. sod turnings, key ceremonies), etc. Oversee, with appropriate stakeholders, the design, printing and distribution of marketing and communication materials for fund development efforts and the organization as a whole.
As our ideal candidate, you are creative and flexible, and you have a curious mindset, which helps you connect with others both virtually through social media and in person. You have experience working with social media in a professional or business setting, and you know just how to create the perfect reel or promotional video. You also have strong writing and administrative skills and love to lend a helping hand when needed.
Candidates should also have:
- Courses in marketing, business administration or communications and two (2) years related experience (or an equivalent combination)
- Experience with graphic design (InDesign, Publisher, Illustrator, WordPress, photoshop, Canva) and Google ads is an asset.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision in a team atmosphere.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Experience fundraising or managing events would be considered an asset.
The salary range offered for this full-time position is $50,000-$65,000 per year, plus an excellent benefits package. Please refer to the Careers page of our website for more information and a detailed job description.
