As we continue to expand, we are seeking a talented and motivated Full-Time Estimator to join our dynamic team.
Job Overview:
As a Full-time Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our company’s success by providing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for custom home construction projects. Working closely with the project management team, you will be responsible for analyzing project specifications, conducting material and labour cost research, and preparing detailed estimates that align with our company’s standard and client expectations. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of construction methods and materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for custom home construction projects.
- Conduct detailed take-offs and quantity surveys of materials, labour, and equipment required.
- Research market prices to ensure cost accuracy and competitiveness.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
- Collaborate with the project management team to develop detailed project budgets.
- Present and explain cost estimates to clients and stakeholders.
- Monitor project costs and identify any variations or deviations.
Qualifications:
- Education in construction management or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably within the residential custom home building industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes, particularly related to residential construction.
- Proficiency in construction estimation software and tools, preferably BuilderTrend.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proactive problem-solving skills.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to accuracy.
