We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Coordinator, Resource Development who demonstrates our values of compassion, accountability, responsiveness and empowerment; to our clients, families and each other.
The Coordinator, Resource Development will be responsible for administrative duties in the resource development team with a focus on donor relations, recordkeeping, and stewardship.
This is a non-unionized, permanent, full-time position. The rate of pay is 24.30 per hour and this is a hybrid opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides timely and accurate donor communication to encourage charitable donations.
- Processes donations with a high degree of precision including: data entry, importing/exporting, coding, queries, and report generation in Raiser’s Edge database.
- Maintains accurate, confidential recordkeeping, files, and calendars.
- Generates quality, timely donor correspondence, thank you letters, tax receipts, in memorium cards, reports, stewardship materials and general mail outs in a timely manner.
- Organizes logistics for meetings and special events.
- Updates contact information and assembles content for electronic access including: SharePoint, and MailChimp.
- Handles in-kind donations for programs or special events.
- Provides a broad range of administrative support including proofreading, organizing information, handling mail and email, and supporting senior staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you will bring:
- Degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution or equivalent level of work experience.
- 1 - 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a not-for-profit environment.
- Demonstrated experience with donations processing using Raiser’s Edge NXT with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Superior organizational and time management skills;
- Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite; experience with MailChimp data an asset.
- Able to work on-site in Hamilton 3-4 days per week with occasional evening or weekend work approx. 4-6 times per year.
- Able to lift/carry up to 20 pounds.
- Experience in building positive working relationships with a diverse range of people.
Competencies:
Donor Relations
- Ability to reach out to donors and respond to their requests in a timely and accurate manner.
- Understanding of the importance of safeguarding donations, data and protecting privacy.
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English, including the ability to proofread.
Donations Processing
- Solid knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and ability to do detailed data entry, importing/exporting, coding, queries, and report generation.
- Understanding of CRA-mandated requirements for recordkeeping and documentation.
- Willingness to keep learning and adjusting ways of work to improve systems and processes, in cooperation with Resource Development Manager and Finance.
Organizing/Supporting
- Experience with MS Office Suite tools.
- Success with maintaining recordkeeping systems in a team-based environment.
- Takes personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of their work.
