Job Description
As Senior Analyst, Financial Planning and Corporate Development, you will be reporting directly to the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis. In this role, you will be responsible to lead and perform analysis as it pertains to the financial performance of the company. This position will support development and maintenance of annual and multi-year forecasts for the Canadian and US businesses (including the 5YR Framework). In addition, you will lead the Corporate Development activities working directly with the Chief Financial Officer.Specific responsibilities include:
- Enhance existing forecasts, provide value-add insights, and find opportunities to analyze and report on new business initiatives.
- Develop financial models, perform target valuations, and advance the financial analysis capability of corporate development due diligence work using analytical tools and techniques.
- Assess the financial performance, risks, and strategic fit of potential acquisition targets.
- Opportunity to support and lead the due diligence activities including the coordination of due diligence activities, perform quality of earnings analyses, risk assessments and process reviews.
- Opportunity to be involved in post-acquisition reporting, earn out calculations, and integration activities.
- Support reporting on benchmarking with other relevant businesses.
- Support the Finance department on the accounting for acquisitions by performing the purchase price allocation work relating to intangible assets.
- Support internal reporting on Hoshin Kanri (5YR strategic plan).
- Complete financial statement analysis to support customer credit assessments.
- Complete specific reporting requests and provide insights on business units.
- Work closely with the existing Finance and Analytics teams on various business initiatives where required.
- Engage in other projects and activities as is necessary to the position and as assigned by your manager and/or the CFO.
Our Ideal Candidate will possess:- Completion or enrollment in the CPA program would be an asset.
- Minimum 2 years of demonstrated progressive responsibility in financial related positions with an emphasis on business case analysis and acquisitions.
- Experience in financial modelling.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong organization skills with the ability to multitask.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
