Position Title: Customer Service Associate

Mission of The Ottawa Hospital Auxiliary
To support The Ottawa Hospital (TOH) in the delivery of world class medical care to our community through innovative fund-raising initiatives, supporting essential patient services, funding education, research programs and the acquisition of vital equipment. This role will be based at both the Civic Campus and the General Campus
Supervisory Support
- Assist the Manager in the assignment of duties and work schedules of other team members.
- Manages complaints from customers or volunteers that cannot be resolved by staff and have been escalated.
- Assists with recruitment for the shop team members.
- Provides oversight to online sales including merchandise delivery within the hospital.
Inventory Control
- Assists with harmonized inventory procurement to achieve maximum revenue potential.
- Manages inventory to maintain consistent supply levels.
- Handles shipping and receiving of all products and ensures stock room is organized and presentable.
- Performs stock counts and updates stock entries as required.
- Ensures proper paperwork is completed as per policies and delivered for payment.
- Communicates with suppliers concerning shortages/damages and documents appropriately.
- Works to achieve and maintain merchandising excellence, performing duties such as maintaining store shelf standards, and rotation of products.
- Continuous research into new products and retail trends to ensure store relevancy.
Customer Service
- Provides efficient and courteous customer service.
- Support volunteers and staff during their designated shift in the shops.
- Perform other duties on the sales floor including answering phone calls, serving clients, renting equipment (as applicable).
Service Programs
- Oversight of inventory for service program execution.
Operations
- Oversight of daily operations including online sales, merchandise delivery and POS operations.
- Opening and closing of store as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years Retail experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365; Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams
- Proficiency working with online retail systems such as Shopify, including automated POS systems.
- Competency in online ordering and product sourcing
- Competency in Retail Merchandising
- Understanding of retail best practices
- English skills mandatory, bilingualism an asset
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident or with a valid Work Permit
- Capable of obtaining and maintaining a Criminal Records Background Check
