MANAGER, WEB AND DIGITAL MARKETING ( FT Reg / Hybrid )
This role reports to the Director, Marketing and Digital Strategy. Reporting directly to this position are staff members within the department who perform website, digital signage, videography, photography, digital advertising and other related functions.
The Manager, Web and Digital Marketing is responsible for developing and leading a series of comprehensive marketing, and recruitment plans through Website, and KPU’s Digital Ecosystem. This position is responsible for ongoing maintenance and enhancement of Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s visibility, branding, positioning, recruitment and enrollment programs and services, digital communications as well as advertising and promotions programs through online, digital and paid social mediums. These functions enable the University to optimize student recruitment and retention, promote the University’s departments, events and programs as well as increase the level of the University’s brand awareness internally and externally.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Web Design, Digital/Internet Marketing or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years directly related experience in web design, digital and social media marketing in a people leadership role, 5 years preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated experience researching, developing, implementing, managing and measuring website, digital media and social media strategies, including analytics to ensure best use of time and resources.
- Demonstrated leadership and experience in supervision and administration of staff in a unionized environment, including hiring, evaluation and performance management of employees.
- Ability to interact and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of individuals at all levels internally as well as with external stakeholders and suppliers in the communities.
- Strong knowledge of Drupal content management system (CMS), website design software, programming languages, video editing software and knowledge of internet protocols and services.
- Strong/advanced knowledge in researching, designing, developing and implementing new websites for a large organization.
- Strong/advanced experience managing website design, architecture development, Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Google Webmaster Tools, SEO, digital advertising mediums and the effective planning of all
- campaigns and tools in a business environment where ROI is a priority.
- Strong/advanced business and strategic experience of online, digital and social media advertising and AdWords campaigns showcasing success through coordinated campaigns and analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule and direct staff in a busy environment with priorities of paying attention to detail, optimizing resources and effectively meeting deadlines and project requirements.
- Experience with managing web, digital and social media strategies and content including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, Snapchat (and others) as well as Wikis and blogs.
- Demonstrated strength in effectively managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated proficiency and experience in web design and using publishing software including Photoshop, Word, Adobe Creative Suite CS5, Microsoft Office and Acrobat.
- A highly organized, creative, proactive and self-motivated team player.
- Enthusiastically keeps current on new trends and technologies in web, digital and social media marketing
- Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and good judgment in dealing with confidential and/or controversial matters.
- Ability to travel between campuses is required.
