Metalworks Institute is the educational branch of The Metalworks Group, we are a sister company to the world-famous Metalworks Studios (recording studio), Metalworks Production Group (live event production) and SoundsUnite (Music EduTech Start-up).
Metalworks has been a pillar of the Canadian music scene for nearly 50 years.
We are looking for a Digital Marketer to help us convey stories and engage meaningfully with our community of alumni, current students, prospective students, and other stakeholders in the music industry. The Digital Marketer will will work with our content creation team to curate and deploy content in a strategic way across various platforms.
The Digital Marketer will primarily oversee the marketing, communications, and digital media needs of Metalworks Institute’s Admissions, Student Services, Academics, and Alumni Services departments, however, the Digital Marketer will also work with Metalworks Studios, Metalworks Production Group, and SoundsUnite on occasion.
Specific credentials or seniority are not as important to the role as a demonstrated ability to create and deploy a strategic marking plan to achieve specific goals. The Digital Marketer will be expected to report on the success of all digital campaigns across multiple platforms to the management team.
The Digital Marketer needs to be creative and willing to adapt to shifting priorities during the natural cadence of the academic year. The Digital Marketer will work on-site at Metalworks Institute, during normal business hours, with an occasionally shifting schedule to capture content at evening and/or weekend events on- or off-site.
At the core of the role, the Digital Marketer will be:
- Our marking strategist - responsible for paid marketing across all relevant platforms
- Our website manager - responsible for managing the company websites including all content, landing pages, webforms and CRM Integrations
- Our social media content manager - responsible for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and LinkedIn
- Our email marketer - responsible for creating and sending all mass emails including regularly scheduled CTAs and the monthly Metalworks Newsletter
- Our in-house graphic designer, copywriter, and multi-media content creator - responsible for creating a wide range of marketing and instructional materials (videos, graphics, print, written)
Skills we're looking for:
- Analytical and able to report on the success and failure of marketing initiatives
- Website content management and front-end web design proficiency
- Organized and able to handle multiple projects at the same time
- Adept at creative problem-solving under time constraints
- Demonstrated photography and videography skills
- Demonstrated oral, visual, and written communication skills (graphic design & copywriting)
Software we'd like you to be proficient at:
- Wordpress.org (Experience using X Theme / Cornerstone, Gravity Forms, and CRM Perks integrations are considered an asset)
- Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Acrobat, InDesign, XD)
- Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Forms, Bookings, and Teams)
- Mailchimp
- Cazoomi SyncApps
- Google Analytics
- Buffer
It would be nice if you had experience or proficiency with:
- Moodle
- NaturalReader
- Zapier
- ProTools, Reason, Ableton or other audio production software
Compensation is based on skill set, experience, and achieving desired outcomes.
