The Opportunity:
This highly experienced leadership role is a Hybrid opportunity in our Edmonton Home Office - Director of Human Resources Are you a compassionate leader and fierce at the negotiations table, well versed in leading the Collective Bargaining Table. As a member of our Care Partner Team, you will provide the following skills and key deliverables:
- Providing services in a manner that demonstrates the principles of appropriate choice, dignity, privacy, independence, and individuality in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values
- Lead and develop results driven, performance management tools, and processes that integrate with the Eden Philosophy and corporate core values and competencies
- Approachable leadership skills that do not waiver while priorities shift throughout the day
- Experienced and able to navigate with confidence through conversations regarding risk management
- Collaborate with the applicable service areas in developing and integrating workforce planning and analysis; talent acquisition, learning and development, performance management, professional development, succession planning and rewards
- Recruitment and retention strategies that take into consideration the need for talent acquisition
- Oversee, develop, and implement a progressive and competitive compensation program which balances company resources
- Maintain compensation range data, the administration, analysis, and design of compensation programs
- Conduct annual benchmarking and compensation analysis
- Research, prepare, and negotiate collective bargaining agreements as required
- Support, consult and facilitate the interpretation and application of collective agreements, company wellness strategies (policies), legislation and other legal documents to ensure understanding, consistency, and operational governance
- Strong understanding of the core components and elements surrounding mediation and arbitration in a manner that is consistent with our philosophy, collective agreements, case law, past practice, and the best interest of the company’s operations
- Assist with investigations, negotiations and resolution of disputes related to grievances
- Develop and monitor strategies that embody a healthy corporate culture including human resources strategies
- Promote program initiatives related to internal/external communications and engagement, and relations across all corporate and community programs
- Provide leadership to critical change management and overall Human Resource business processes
- Performing other services/tasks/duties related to employee Care Partner role as assigned
Foundational knowledge and experience:
- Degree in Human Resources and Labour Relations Management
- 5+ years leading Collective Bargaining Negotiations "Required"
- 10+ years of recent human resource management experience, with at least 5 years of senior HR experience
- CPHR Designation
- Experience with overseeing and supervising payroll operations
- Experience in the seniors/housing/health care industry considered an asset
- Experience with HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems (specifically BambooHR)
- Proven success implementing and driving results with various HR Strategies
