Job Description
PRIMARY ROLE:
Assists the Controller by maintaining financial records, producing financial accounting forecasts, budgets, and reports; undertake financial and statistical analysis of the financial numbers and the key metrics for the business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial Modeling – develops and runs financial models and “what if” scenarios for the group financials and budgets, including Income statements, balance sheets and cash flow forecasts.
· Develop robust and sustainable data accumulation methods and systems for project-based cost accounting, using the MRP and 3D Inventor and Vault systems as primary sources of information.
· Work with systems analysts and other stakeholders in the business to create and review the controls needed for managing costing systems associated reporting tools.
· Ensures processes, technology, data, and people are aligned to support the overall business strategy.
· Provides recommendations for the leadership team on required changes to current business architecture to drive business performance including the selection of new enterprise resource planning system.
· Providing oversight and support to finance operations in China, Europe, and USA
· Assist cross-functional teams in developing and optimizing new technology and re-engineered processes to drive efficiencies (including the reduction in errors and processing time to achieve cost savings)
· Assists in system design/process design and/or the development of other improvement initiatives that create efficiencies and improve the system infrastructure of the business.
Analysis
· Report on breakeven points by projects, products, business lines, and manufacturing locations.
· Report on margins by project, products, and business line.
· Report on periodic variances and their causes.
· Analyze trends and produce forecasts relating to margins and costs.
· Assist in new product development initiatives to provide costing and margin forecasts.
· Perform other cost accumulation and related tasks.
Other Tasks
· Assist in the production of month-end KPI, management and financial reporting.
· Cross train and develop other members of the Finance team in cost accounting principles and practices.
· Provide back-up and support to other members of the Finance team in a range of Finance related tasks and duties.
· Take on additional Finance duties as set out by the Controller or CFO.
