Pacific Signs Group Inc. dba Knight Signs is looking for a full-time Technical Graphic Designer Lead to join our team in Delta, BC.
Description:
The Technical Graphic Designer lead is responsible for maintaining and developing a workflow that is cognizant of timelines while simultaneously meeting the client’s requirements and ensuring quality checks throughout the department and artwork produced.
Responsibilities:
Ø Review the current artwork process to ensure it creates for a timely output of artwork from the start of the workflow cycle of sales to the end of the cycle which is production.
Ø Develop new processes to enhance the current workflow.
Ø Ensure all processes and standard operating procedures are current and updated to accommodate changes in the workflow.
Ø Ensure Matrix files are up – to -date.
Ø Work with the preproduction team on task assignments and production schedule to meet deadlines.
Ø Develop powerful and efficient workflows with Tech / Art to set technical guidelines for artwork.
Ø Review artwork in the system and disseminate to Graphic Designers and monitor timelines, efficiency and accuracy of artwork produced as per the client requirements.
Ø Utilize client specifications or creative approach to produce innovative environmental signage.
Ø Review final layout and suggest improvements.
Ø Make recommendations for paint guides for manufacturing submission.
Ø Provide documentation, detailed instruction, drawings and specification and notes for fabrication and installation requirements.
Ø Liaise directly with the sales team to clarify at times complicated customer request prior to the artwork being completed.
· Technical Review
Ø Participate in technical art review meeting to present draft of proposed sign prior to beginning production.
Ø Determine suitable materials for the design fabrication.
Ø Review graphics, layout, and fabrication design techniques
Ø Take responsibility for juggling a hectic portfolio of art and design projects to meet tight client and manufacturing deadlines.
Ø Work closely with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to ensure designs are technically and esthetically accurate.

· Strong people management skills and ability to lead a team of people from diverse backgrounds.
· Ability to work efficiently and effectively with third party designers in order to achieve shared vision.
. Strong attention to detail, an inherent eye for design, and the ability to multi-task, quality checks all under tight deadlines.
· Precise proof-reading abilities with an eye for spotting grammatical errors in the artwork.
· Takes initiative, strong work ethic, can execute, and gets things done.
· Analytical thinking with very good problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
· Persuasive and logical approach to making others understand vision and concept.
.Working knowledge of pre-press / production ready artwork as well as various industrial digital printing. processes on various substrate material.
· Manufacturing methodologies or techniques preferred asset.
· Knowledgeable about the effective use of topography, color, and visual & environmental space.
· Effective communications skills, with the ability to listen and persuade.
· Excellent time management skills.
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Product Design, Architecture, or a related field preferable
· Exposure to architectural drawings, drafting or production experience.
· High proficiency with graphic design programs like Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp and other design software
· Knowledge of CAD, MS Excel and Word.
· Clear and concise English language abilities, both written and verbal.Compensation & Benefits:
