The Concierge/Guest Services Associate take care of all guests by personally receiving them and ensuring that those responsible for taking them to their meetings are promptly contacted. The Associate has the added responsibility from a security perspective to register all guest. Associates attend to guest requests and make every attempt to resolve any issues or concerns in a professional manner. When asked, Associates are responsible for providing quality information regarding ATCO. The Associate is responsible for making a valuable first impression on the guests, so that their memories of their visit to ATCO are positive. Guests may include members of the ATCO and CU Boards of Directors; potential and current customers, vendors, and key business partners; elected and non-elected government officials and representatives, key industry representatives at all levels, ATCO employees and officers visiting from other jurisdictions, and VIPs visiting from around the world.
What you get to do:
- Proactively provide outstanding services to all guests
- Greet all guests in a prompt, efficient and friendly manner and interact with them in a positive way
- If not already registered, ensure all guests are registered, and provided with guest passes, as appropriate
- Contact the person responsible for collecting the guests to ensure efficient access to and from meetings, as appropriate
- Attend to guest requests and attempt to resolve any issues or concerns in a professional manner
- Act diligently in identifying and approaching those who do not have identification and offer assistance
- Assist guests with ground transportation arrangements, guiding them on local entertainment and recreation areas, and other assistance as required
- Promptly answer the telephone calls in a professional and friendly manner, forwarding the caller or taking messages, as required
- Maintain up to date knowledge on the current services that are being offered by ATCO and ensure that this information is conveyed to guests in an effective way
- Practice safety standards at all times and ensure that Concierge/Guest Services area is kept clean and organized
- Provide coverage for Administrative Coordinator/Executive Assistants, as required
- Administrative duties may include assisting with Key Executive special requirements such as couriers, special deliveries, VIP assistance, and other responsibilities as required
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Hospitality Management or related discipline. A Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is an asset
- 3-5 years’ professional experience as a hotel concierge or guest services
- Experience operating various software programs is an asset
- Encompass a drive for maintaining and nurturing professional and personal relationships by demonstrating strong and excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated professional business acumen.
- Comfortable working in pressure situations and should be able to deal with a diverse range of people and help in resolving their issues in a calm manner
- Flexible working hours
- Excellent organization, management and multi-tasking skills
- Attention to detail
- Adaptable to the changing conditions of the business. Able to remain up to date with current knowledge of ATCO products and services
- Technologically savvy and able to understand new platforms that support the goals of customer-centric guest services
