A Day in the Life
This position will collaborate with cross-functional teams, conducting market research, and utilizing data analysis techniques to support data-driven decision-making to drive HR initiatives.
Additional key responsibilities include
- Collaborate with HR and operations stakeholders to develop and implement HR strategies that support Allnorth’s goals and objectives.
- Act as a trusted advisor and provide guidance to managers and team members on HR policy, procedures, and best practices.
- Partner with hiring managers and internal TA team to identify staffing needs, develop job descriptions, contribute to the recruitment process and successful onboarding of the new team member.
- Support the enhancement of performance management processes by providing guidance on goal setting, performance evaluations, and career development.
- Collaborate with the HR team to design and administer competitive compensation and benefit programs through industry benchmarking to attract and retain talent.
- Identify training needs and partner with Learning and development to develop initiatives to enhance team member skills and knowledge.
- Assess and implement HR policies and procedures in accordance with legal requirements and industry best practices.
- Promote a positive and inclusive work environment through engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and team member feedback mechanisms.
- Utilize HR data and analytics to identify trends, measure HR effectiveness, and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Lead or participate in HR projects, such as leadership development, technology implementation, change management, and process improvement. Collaborates with HR team on new initiatives and leverages team expertise in delivering and implementing functional initiatives to client groups.
- Travel is required up to 20% to be physically present in our operations (including field operations)
What You’ll Bring to the Team
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of proven experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist in the engineering consulting industry.
- Highly proficient in all areas of Canadian/Provincial employment law and human rights legislation; familiarity with United States employment law.
- Experience with disability management and the administration of a drug and alcohol policy.
- Demonstrated experience in talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, and organizational development.
- Excellent time management and organization skills, with the proven ability to reprioritize to meet the demands of a high-volume portfolio.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization through effective listening, coaching, facilitation, conflict resolution and relationship management.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Interest in personal development and keeping current in human resource practices through external resources and building a strong HR network.
