Westhills Equine Veterinary Services has a new opportunity for an HR Coordinator to join our growing team. Westhills EVS is a full service, 5 veterinarian hospital and ambulatory equine practice located just outside of Stony Plain, Alberta. We offer a variety of veterinary services including preventative medicine, dentistry, sports medicine, reproduction, emergency care and more. As a key component of our organizational success, the Human Resource Coordinator is responsible for the logistics of employee management and provides professional advice and expertise on human resource practices and processes.
Our ideal candidate:
- Completion of a post-secondary Human Resources program, or related discipline
- 2-3 years of HR experience including recruiting, labour relations, performance management, and learning & development.
- Focused on Customer Service Excellence
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Passionate about assisting others
- Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks/activities
- Interest in personal growth and professional development
- Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License
Role & Responsibilities:
- Employee scheduling and identifying when modifications in employee scheduling are required
- Assisting Office Manager with staff payroll/budget
- Regular meetings with team department leads and direct relationships between floor staff and office management
- Managing employee contracts including new hires, updates and renewals
- Work with Operations Office and Store Level Managers in the Recruitment process including:
- Advertising, communicating with candidates, coordinating interviews, and assisting in the selection
- Update and maintain job descriptions for posting on numerous recruiting platforms (e.g. Indeed)
- Manage new team members through the onboarding process:
- Facilitating onboarding and/or orientation changes
- Working with team leads on training manuals and programs
- Monitor the implementation of and conduct the 2 week, 6 week and 90 day training reviews for new hires
- Monitor the implementation of and conduct quarterly staff reviews
- Off boarding and exit interviews
- Managing employee complaints and staff disputes
- Managing and monitoring incident reports
- Managing WCB claims
- General maintaining of employee files and managing individual Benefits, CE Hours, Holidays, Personal time, etc.
