NRSI is looking for a full cycle Human Resources Manager to join our team. The successful applicant will be based out of our head office in Waterloo, Ontario, and will be expected to regularly work in the office to provide support to staff. The Human Resources Manager will report directly to Senior Management and will work closely with the team and staff in all aspects of the role.
- Bachelors’ degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, College Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management, or similar educational experience. Comparable employment experience will also be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in Human Resources.
Your Role:
- Work with the Senior Management to develop/update company policies, procedures, directives and guidelines.
- Facilitate and support effective employee and labour relations. This will involve providing labour law and regulation advice to staff and the management team, monitor changes in labour laws and relevant regulations, and provide regular updates on potential risks, best practices, and labour laws.
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of employee recruitment, selection and retention plans and processes.
- Organize and implement new employee administrative orientation and training.
- Conduct employee annual performance reviews.
- Research and support the development and communication of the NRSI compensation plan including wages, benefits, RRSP contributions, etc.
- Support employee well-being including work and personal well-being, address grievances, and labour issues.
- Collaborate with the Joint Health and Safety Committee, to develop, implement and evaluate the NRSI health and safety policies and procedures, and update any contractor and supplier information management sites.
- Create and support a safe, welcoming and diverse workplace.
- Update employee training records.
- Liaise with corporate benefit provider and administer program to employees.
- Process payroll.
- Conduct exit interviews with employees leaving the company and apply lessons learned to recommend changes in company policy, compensation etc.
Your Skills and Experience:
- Extensive training/experience in HR
- Strong communication skills including active listening, adapting communication, friendliness, confidence, giving and receiving feedback, empathy, respect, understanding of non-verbal cues and responsiveness.
- Strong administrative skills and high attention to detail.
- Skilled in negotiating and coaching.
- Some experience with full-cycle recruitment.
- Ability to write, speak and present company policies to management and employees.
- Strong leadership, ability to lead colleagues and employees to uphold processes and programs for hiring, risk management, performance review and training.
- Knowledge of developing & implementing HR policies, procedures, and guidelines to comply with legal requirements and align with organizational goals.
- Experience in Health and Safety regulations, standards and programs.
- Confidentiality & integrity.
- JHSC Certification Part 1 & 2.
- Experience with contractor and supplier information management websites (i.e.: ISN, Avetta).
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now.
