About the Role
Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Polygon is looking for a dynamic and self-motivated Human Resources Manager who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
In this newly created role, you will be working to develop new, and elevate existing, practices which influence our company culture and employee experience while aligning with our organizational goals. You will help to enhance our people-first approach and will actively develop new and exciting components to our human resources space.
Responsibilities
Recruiting and Onboarding
- Managing the recruitment and onboarding processes for new team members
Training
- Developing and documenting training programs for key functions within the company to enhance employee’s skills and knowledge
- Promoting a culture to foster continuous professional development
- Performance Measurement and Management
- Developing and implementing a new performance management program that aligns with Polygon’s culture, values and strategic goals
Compensation
- Providing benchmarking guidance to senior executives on key components of employees’ total compensation, including a periodic in-depth review of Polygon’s employee benefit plan and additional staff perks
Engagement and Culture
- Measuring employee engagement and developing strategies for its continuous enhancement at both the corporate and department level to ensure a positive work environment and promote employee morale and productivity
Issue Resolution
- Providing advice and guidance on employment-related issues
- Working effectively alongside senior executives to resolve human resource challenges
EDI and ESG
- Establishing and integrating an effective EDI strategy into our human resource function and throughout our corporate culture
- Establishing and continuously evolving an ESG strategy that pairs with our company and industry
Payroll
- Working with our payroll team to ensure we stay up-to-date on payroll-related issues including new legislation and requirements from the CRA
- Monitoring changes to the BC Employment Standards Act and similar legislation, and advising senior executives of key areas for compliance and best practices
General
- Maintaining accurate HR records and generating reports as required
- Staying informed about current HR technologies and initiatives to recommend improvements going forward.
Requirements
- A demonstrated track record of building trusted relationships with leaders and employees across an organization
- A passion for building high performance teams and doing the “right thing” for team members
- 5+ years of progressive human resources experience in a medium-to-large organization
- CPHR designation or a CPHR candidate preferred
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline preferred
- Experience with UKG or a similar HRIS preferred
- Ability to work with confidential, sensitive information and to maintain discretion with a demonstrated reputation for acting with a high level of integrity at all times
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills with the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with a broad internal employee base
- A keen attention to detail with strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills
