As the Manager, Talent Attraction, Recruitment & Workforce Planning you will be responsible for consulting with a broad range of stakeholders to align Seneca’s Talent Acquisition programs with the current needs of the organization and its strategic goals. Responsibilities will include the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of talent acquisition and workforce planning strategies, programs and initiatives to attract and retain top and diverse talent, with a mandate of: continuous improvement, streamlining of hiring practices and process, policies, and tools, all with a focus on enhancing the employee brand to strengthen Seneca’s position as an employer of choice.
You will ….
- Play a critical role in helping Seneca be proactive around their talent needs and establishing Seneca’s Employer Brand.
- Act as a recruitment business partner for all departments focusing on full cycle recruitment.
- Provide guidance and expertise to all leaders and recruiters on best practices, training and coaching for recruitment and selection.
- Serves as a role model in the development of an organizational culture and promotion of the vision that is embedded with equity, diversity and inclusion.
Talent Acquisition
- Manage the recruitment and selection process for all positions, including job postings and advertisements, interviewing and selection, assessments, developing pipelines offer management and onboarding
- In partnership with the talent acquisition team directly service full cycle recruitment needs for positions at all levels of the organization
- Support the Director of Recruitment in the development and enhancement of existing talent programs, policies and process
- Acts as an active member and advocate of building inclusive workplaces, employment, and innovation ecosystems.
- Develop and enhance recruitment metrics and reporting
Workforce Planning
- Understand the state of Seneca’s workforce and analyze supply/demand for the organization
- Develop and implement recruitment and workforce planning strategies and initiatives
- Thought leadership including review and research of best practices and emerging trends in Talent Acquisition (TA).
- Partner with senior leadership executives and the Business HR team to forecast future hiring needs.
- Analyze and interpret labor market data to provide insights on current and future workforce needs
Team Leadership and TA Governance
- Manage and provide coaching to a team of talent acquisition professionals.
- Monitor practices to ensure fair, equitable, and consistent processes, which comply with collective agreements, applicable legislation and Seneca’s policies.
- Maintain a high level of performance through effective selection, training, development and motivation of staff.
- Jointly identify training and development needs and opportunities and develop plans with employees to meet those needs.
Branding & Advertising
- Enhance Seneca’s overall image related to the Employer Brand by being responsible for branding Seneca as an employer to candidates.
- Plan and execute marketing campaigns for mass hiring initiatives, as well as advertising for ad-hoc hiring needs.
- Research, evaluate, and acquire appropriate channels/resources to support a robust talent attraction program.
- Support the launch and implementation of Seneca EVP and employment branding strategies
System, Technology, and Process Review & Enhancements
- Regular review and assessment of existing processes and technologies to continuously work on reducing time to fill, increasing manager satisfaction, and enhancing the candidate experience in order to help attract a maximum number of qualified candidates.
- Ensure systems and processes adhere to legislative and collective agreement requirements and align with core values.
- Implements technology that enhances access to reliable and meaningful Talent Acquisition data that can provide insight into the speed, qualify and cost of hiring.
Other
- Consult with legal counsel on specialized recruitment matters such as immigration.
- Develop and sustain strong working relationships and partnerships with hiring managers, clients, search firms and vendors
- Manage contracts, negotiate fees and engagement terms with external service providers, including background check vendors, assessment vendors, agencies, and job board
- Develop and implement training programs and materials to support hiring managers in the recruitment and selection process
- Ad-hoc projects
As part of our commitment to dismantling barriers to success and job opportunities for employees and candidates, Seneca may consider applicants with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of a completed Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Human Resource Management, Organizational Behaviour, Labour Relations, or related discipline. If in another field of study, state how the education is related.
- A minimum of nine (9) years of progressive management experience in the field of Talent Acquisition including experience in a high volume, multi-locations, complex and unionized environment.
- Advanced computer skills relating to the management of recruitment, selection and workforce planning processes, including MS Excel, Word & Access, Internet, Web Applicant Management Systems, and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
- Experience maintaining complex activity tracking and metric reports, with demonstrated ability to use report results to build continuous improvement.
- Experience and expert knowledge of employment principles needed to interpret and work within the Iegal/civil framework of employment legislation, collective agreements, and college policies and procedures
