The Organization: St. Michael’s Long Term Care Centre, a fully accredited, 153 bed multi-level facility, Millennium Pavilion Senior’s Lodge located in North East Edmonton, and Supportive Living Sites in Vegreville and soon to be two sites in Spruce Grove, and soon to be four Senior’s Apartments in Edmonton. St. Michaels’ supports professional development opportunities through its “Partnerships in Learning” program. The successful candidate will be located about fifty percent plus at our Spruce Grove Sites and the rest of the time in the St. Michael’s Long Term Care Centre at 7404-139 Avenue Edmonton, Alberta
The Job: Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Senior Human Resources Advisor is responsible for: Recruitment and Selection;Ensures that site/job specific training is set up and occurs as per the new hire check list;Job Analysis and Job Description Development; assists with Administration and Management of Employee Benefits set up; Track, collect and ensure Employee Performance Evaluations are completed by Site Managers. Employee Relations/Wellness initiatives;Coordinates and assists with a variety of human resources programs and initiatives such as various employee events; Assists with Payroll; Responsible for administration of privacy legislation (FOIP, HIA and PIPA). Works closely with the Director of Human Resources and completes special projects and prepares routine and ad hoc reports. Performs other duties as required.
The Candidate: The successful candidate will possess intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Access and Publisher). A post-secondary Human Resources certificate, diploma or degree; or prior experience (5-8 years) would be an asset. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, have excellent customer service, organizational, problem solving, inter-personal and communication skills, as well as a strong work ethic. Candidates must be capable of functioning effectively with frequent interruptions. Orientation and training for the various tasks will be provided to the successful candidate.
