Summary
Reporting to the Sanitation Team Leader, the Team Member – Office Cleaner is responsible for the cleanliness of all the office areas during their shift and help with general cleaning.
In this position you will work in a team environment led by a Team Leader. You will support your Team Leader by demonstrating and practicing team work every day and respect all your fellow Team Members.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensures the timely and properly cleanliness of the office areas including but not limited to floors, cafeteria, office kitchen, washrooms, QA lab
- Ensures the timely and accurate collection of garbage
- Ensures all sanitation supplies being placed in all dispensers
- Ensures all of the office areas have been cleaned properly according to the SOP’S
- Occasionally assists Sanitation Operator with general cleaning in the plant
- Collaborates effectively with all internal groups/teams
- Must adhere to company GMP’s and Health and Safety Regulations
- Performs all job responsibilities under the strictest guidelines of the BRC food safety standards
- Empties waste bins, washes as needed and adds new liners
- Disinfectant mopping and wipes down of all hard surfaces
- Sanitizes and cleans all basins, toilets, doors and fixtures in washroom/changerooms
- Makes sure that all dispensers are filled with paper towel, toilet tissue, soap, sanitizer, hairnet, beard net, GMP and safety accessories
- If there is a dishwasher, loads all dishes present in dishwasher and runs the cycle
- Wipes down all walls, toilet cabins/doors, reflective surfaces including mirrors and glass
- Empties refrigerator of all employee brought food, removes all personal belongings (shoes/personal clothing) from locker room, cleans and disinfects
- Cleans up the office and team member kitchen, e.g. cleans out the sink, washes any dishes that need washing, washes out the coffee pot if applicable, cleans out the microwave. Makes sure there is no food debris on the counters or the floors
- Mop cleaning, surface cleaning for all office, lunch room furniture sure as chairs, desks, tables etc.
- Inspects for proper functioning of all water fountain, hot water in faucets, and toilet sensors and applies red tag for any deviations found
- Check fridge temperature and updates the records
- Sweeps and tidies up plant exterior and parking lot including the compactor area for garbage and smoke buds
- Shovels snow from all facility entrances and apply snow salt during winters
- Deep clean inside, under, behind and top of lockers, refrigerators and vending machines
- Inspect for GMP violations in lockers, lunch room and common areas and notify QA/Team Leaders
- Transferring of ordered supplies e.g. Paper towel, hand soap, gloves etc. from receiving area and organizing them in Sanitation stock room/cages
- Decalcifying, cleaning and maintaining Coffee Machine. Filling up Fresh water and coffee bean, emptying/cleaning coffee bin if needed
- Performs glass breakage/injury clean-up/ body fluid spill clean procedure in welfare and common areas
- Assists with general plant cleaning up on Team Leader’s request
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Experience:
- Minimum 1 year related experience in sanitation environment (food/bakery experience is desirable)
- Previous experience in a sanitation environment using chemicals approved for CFIA is an asset
- Accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to detect the presence of a sanitation issue
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Physically capable of performing the demands of the role
- Ability to move from one task to another with minimal distraction
- Flexible to work days, afternoons, nights & weekends if needed
