Qualifications and Skills
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate from a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technician (MLA/T) educational institute
- OSMT or CSMLS certification
- Demonstrate excellence in communication, both written and verbal
- Proven ability to solve analytical and technical problems
- Ability to prioritize and adapt to requirements of assigned duties
- Demonstrated computer literacy and proficiency in keyboarding
- Physical ability to perform assigned duties
- Committed to customer service and teamwork
- Knowledge of laboratory safety
- Understanding of quality assurance
- Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality
- Demonstrate individual leadership skills
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Willingness to learn
Recommended Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year experience in phlebotomy
- Familiarity with ECG testing
- Familiarity with pulmonary function testing
- Experience with CIS or other electronic medical record (EMR) software
New graduates who have successfully completed the CSMLS exam are encouraged to apply.
