Job Description
KDH is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join the team on a temporary part-time basis.
In addition to the Hospital’s requirements for commitment to the Mission and Philosophy of Care the following are requirements for this position:
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Secondary School Diploma required with basic computer skills;
- Knowledge of building automation systems and general knowledge in several fields (i.e, mechanical, plumbing, low voltage and arc flash electrical, carpentry and pipefitting) would be an asset;
- Familiarity with building and plumbing codes as well as the ability to read blueprints/shop drawings/single line diagrams, as required;
- Capable of meeting the high physical demands of the job (i.e, repetitive lifting and bending);
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Work attendance in good standing;
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and related safe work practices.
Starting Wage: $23.25/hr
Please note: In order to work in a healthcare facility, the Public Hospitals Act 1990, Regulation 965 requires all employees to provide proof of up-to-date immunization/vaccines for the following diseases: Tuberculin Skin Testing (TB), Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella (Chicken Pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria (DTap), Influenza (during flu season) and three COVID shots. This proof must be provided to our Occupational Health Office in order to be cleared to work.
