We are seeking a Distribution Projects Financial Services Lead to work in our Project Service Department. Under the general
direction of the Financial Services Section Head, will lead and supervise the Transmission & Distribution Projects Financial Services
team and provide expertise and guidance related to financial/accounting project cost management functions including detailed
project specific cost control, planning/budgeting, reporting, analysis, and process improvement services for various construction
projects managed by the Transmission & Distribution Projects Department (T&DPD). Will also support with the development,
implementation and integration of project management systems and business process improvements to enable effective project
portfolio planning and management processes for the Project Division.
NOTE: THIS POSITION REQUIRES AUTHORIZED ACCESS TO CRITICAL PHYSICALAND/OR CYBER ASSETS. A
PERSONNEL RISK ASSESSMENT AND CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop and supervise the Transmission & Distribution Projects Financial Services team who are primarily responsible
for capital planning/budgeting, financial monitoring and control and development of analysis of various expenditure data and
reports- Lead the development of new or enhanced data integration strategies related to portfolio management and financial reporting
for Transmission & Distribution Projects- Lead monthly financial reporting meetings including creation of reports and liaise with project staff and schedulers within the
department and division for inputs to track project progress, communicate to management, facilitate questions and responses
on project progress and develop improvement strategies for financial reporting- Performs final review and provides oversight/guidance of project and contract expenditures and development/implementation
of monitoring processes for project managers to review expenditures- Provide guidance and participate in the evaluation processes for new contracts. Lead evaluation of financial stability of
potential vendors bidding on contracts, overall costing, ensure proper tax treatment and make recommendations regarding
Payment Terms & Conditions- Develop and provide monthly, quarterly, and year-end project cost and/or financial reporting to Project Managers (PMs) and
Management using SAP, Copperleaf and/or Analysis for Office.- Provide SAP process and technical expertise to project staff to ensure proper set up of new project initiation (or existing
project information updates) and ensuring compliance with MH standards.- Utilizing the SAP PS module, provide SAP project cost management expertise for projects managed by the T&DPD portfolio,
including, but not limited to, network and activity structure, balancing and settling accounts, cash flows forecasting, budgeting,MANITOBA HYDRO IS COMMITTED TO DIVERSITY AND EMPLOYMENT EQUITY

interest and escalation calculations, budget variances, in-service dates. This includes ensuring proper asset and depreciation
categorization of project and contract costs.
- Facilitate month-end and year-end cycles applying to all projects including finalizing accruals, project in service, asset
retirements, journals, and monthly billings for submission to staff in the Corporate Controller DivisionQualifications:
- Completion of the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, plus two years of directly related financial
accounting experience.- Advanced knowledge and extensive experience and aptitude in the development of spreadsheet applications including
generation/maintenance of pivot tables, queries, macros- Work experience in project environment and general knowledge of project management systems and principles is required
- Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and practices and of the Corporations procedures, policies, and
regulations
- Ability to plan, organize and control activities of various concurrent work assignments within the area of responsibility
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish, maintain harmonious working relationships, and interact
effectively with division staff at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to use the SAP PS, MM and CO modules for investigation and extraction of cost and resource data
related to capital projects
- Demonstrated ability to use Analysis for Office (AFO)
- Experience with C55 Copperleaf would be an asset
- Knowledge of the components and systems relating to hydroelectric generating stations would be an asset
- Understanding of Primavera Scheduling or other Critical Path Method schedule software would be an asset
- Exhibits integrity and sound judgment in dealing with financial matters including confidential information
Salary Range
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $41.15 - $51.00 Hourly,
$78,851.50 - $ 108,804.02 Annually.
