Job Description
The Operations Supervisor oversees the efficient operation of all functions within the branch. The Operations supervisor is a strategic thinker striving for excellence with customer service levels, employee engagement, and contract performance.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise a staff of drivers, helpers, and administrators within a designated division to ensure work is being performed in a timely and courteous manner
Schedule labour hours and truck usage to targets
Ensure sufficient daily staffing levels.
Respond to customer and driver issues.
Perform route audits to ensure safe and efficient procedures are followed; identify possible training needs, and coach drivers and helpers.
Monitor and manage the GPS system for idling and engine off time.
Ensure continued compliance and adherence to Company policies and procedures with respect to operations and safety requirements.
Assist in accident and/or injury investigations, or property damage claims to ensure timely reporting and resolution
Plan and prepare for seasonal fluctuations in service regarding driver/helper needs and work with the Maintenance department on vehicle needs.
Maintain a working relationship with contract contacts.
Additional duties as assigned below:
Daily reporting to contract contracts according to contract deliverables
Productivity reporting to management through GPS reports
Interviewing drivers, helpers
On-route safety observations
Morning startup presence for the majority of drivers
Basic dispatch coverage when needed.
