Led by a black woman, MB company was founded in 2015 by Mary when she immigrated from Brazil to Canada and decided to introduce to North America a new experience in loving chocolate through her chocolate creations and her culture.
Mary's Brigadeiro Handcrafted Chocolate® has become one of the top destinations in Toronto for chocolate lovers and selected as one of the TOP 3 chocolate shops in the city by Toronto Star. About the position: You should love chocolate Brigadeiros as much as we do, but you don’t have to know everything -- we’ll teach you everything we know.
Your responsibility consists of being very passionate about hand rolling and finalizing the Brigadeiros, caring deeply about the process and taking pride in the end product (Brigadeiro training will be provided).
You will learn to recognize good quality Brigadeiros, the infusions, the natural resources and at the end of the week, everyone meets to review what goals were met and what steps can be taken as we continuously seek to improve and perfect the brigadeiro making process and all the other creations to support the physical and online shop plus the online/corporate events.
Duties Included to our new Chocolate Hero:
- Production: Learning and performing all steps of hand-rolling Brigadeiros with our Chef Chocolatier;
- Making our signature cookie dough
- Participate in the process of scooping and finalizing our Signature Cookies;
- Learn new techniques to help create new seasonal creations;
- Organizing and sorting inventory with the team;
- Building and folding boxes;
- Customer service/counter sales.
- Fulfilling online orders, creating delivery or shipping labels and answering customer inquiries regarding their orders
Extra details:
- Safety: Adhering to strict safety standards, food safety, and quality procedures;
- Maintenance: Cleaning and maintaining our production facility, including machines;
Requirements for the positions:
- Ability to work legally in Canada (work visa or permanent resident);
- Currently living in Canada;
- Detail-oriented. We must meet a high level of consistency, so this attribute is critical;
- Able to follow instructions and adjust work based on provided feedback;
- Able to understand and speak English at minimum an intermediate level;
- Must have Food Handler Certificate;
- Full-Time ~ 36 hrs and weekend availability (Saturday only);
- Be able to work alone and on a team;
These are a physical jobs, but it’s a labor of love. We prefer that candidates have kitchen experience, as it helps with the pace and the demand of this position.
