Job Title: Program Coordinator
Responsible to: Program Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the administration of agency service delivery programs (Mentoring Programs)
- Conduct program intakes, assessments, pre-match trainings, closures and complete all required documentation following Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada National Standards.
- Liaise with schools, community youth service agencies, other community groups, clubs or the public in general as required.
- Compete all administrative functions as required to maintain case notes on all clients in accordance with the standards. This includes becoming proficient in using Dynamics CRM Database.
- Provide monthly reports with service delivery updates to the Program Manager
- All other duties deemed necessary by the Program Manager
Qualifications :
In accordance with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada’s national Child Safety standards, all Service Delivery Staff must “have specific training in understanding human growth and development, appropriate interpersonal skills, child safety training, and volunteer program management.” For this position this training shall include post-secondary in education, human/ social services, psychology, family sciences with the minimum two year diploma in related field. Preference will be given to candidates who possess bachelors degree in fields listed above.
In addition to this incumbent shall also possess:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children ages 6-18 and/or their families
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an Educational Institution, Social Services, Non Profit environment or equivalent experience will be considered
- Experience with a variety of agencies and individuals
- Experience facilitating large groups of children, teens, adults and peers
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to interact with people of all ages and cultural ethnicities (specifically Indigenous, Aboriginal/First Nations, Métis, Inuit)
- Ability to work independently and as part of an integral team
- Strong computer skills, efficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Valid Class 5 drivers license and access to a personal vehicle
- Clean Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
Working hours:
Monday - Friday 8:30am-4:00pm with occasional evening and weekend work.
