Role: Intermediate GIS Programmer/Analyst

Responsibilities could include but are not limited to:
· Implementation of a Web-based structure for automatic publication of the St. Lawrence and Great Lakes Waterways Channel Bottom Conditions in conformity to the new hydrographic data publication standards of the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO – S-100 formats);
· Development of interactive tools for space/time queries on the state of the waterways at various parameters;
· Fusion of multi sources datasets (AIS navigation data, water levels, etc.) for the quantification of vessels’ under-keel clearance (UKC) in the waterways, and creation of a geospatial database of historical UKC;
· Quantification of multi-criteria analysis level of risks (WWM to provide criterion) published by the WWM;
· Automatic conversion of raw archived raster datasets (proprietary formats at fixed spatial resolution) into standardized cartographic products (standard formats at various spatial resolutions), in accordance with the new hydrographic data publication standards of the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO – S- 100 formats);
· Development of an operational raster-based spatial approach to assess the bathymetric data level of quality (uncertainty, age, location, etc.);
· Without limitation, all other project recognized by the WWM within the contracting period
· Fusion of multi sources datasets (AIS navigation data, water levels, etc.) for the quantification of vessels’ under-keel clearance (UKC) in the waterways, and creation of a geospatial database of historical UKC;
· Quantification of multi-criteria analysis level of risks (WWM to provide criterion) published by the WWM.
· Development of an operational raster-based spatial approach to assess the bathymetric data level of quality (uncertainty, age, location, etc.);
· Develop draft technical presentations or training sessions for the TA/PA review and comments; Incorporate TA/PA comments if applicable to the technical presentation or training sessions; Provide final copies of the technical presentation or training sessions in MS Office format;
· Provide presentation and training sessions to DFO staff as required as per the PA/TA, the number of participants and dates will be confirmed by the PA/TA;
Skills/Experience Required:
· MUST HOLD A valid security clearance (please indicate on resume)
· A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a GIS Programmer/Analyst.
· Experience in:
o GIS tool automation
o Programming in Python
o Building SQL query
o Developing detailed programming specifications, writing or generating code
o Hydrographic software CARIS suite or QPS suite
