PURPOSE:
The Project Coordinator works within the project management group supporting project managers to facilitate the successful execution of piling projects. This position liaises with both estimating and engineering teams to complete project setup and with the construction and manufacturing departments to execute projects. No two days are the same for this position in this dynamic role. While a typical Project Coordinator advances their career through the project management field, there is opportunity for the right candidate to progress their career into multiple paths: Project Management, Estimating, Sales and Business Development, Design Engineering, or Construction Management in the future.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interpret technical documentation, specifications, and design drawings
- Prepare budgets and schedules including coordinating sub-trade invitations and estimates, preparation of contract documents and schedules
- Work closely with the project team and client to ensure successful project execution.
- Create and execute project work plans, schedules, and milestones; revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Help in the identification of potential risks and opportunities, and participate in solutions
- Support field execution team with document preparation (job packages), filing, distribution and other administration
- Support manufacturing team with shop drawing submittals, fabrication work order creation, printing, archiving and/or filing of records
- Maintain paper and electronic project files as required for project administration
- Monitor and track productivity on site against forecasted schedules for progress billing and cost management
- Liaise with customers and consultants throughout the timeline of a project from project kickoff to closeout
- Perform feedback loop on project estimates through budget tracking to provide estimating group with continual supporting information
- Attend and participate in site-visits, pre-bid meetings and post-bid meetings as required
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma or degree in engineering or commerce
- Preference will be given to professional members of APEGA
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Practical experience in construction, engineering, and/or manufacturing preferred
- Experience in piling is an asset
