Senior Project Technologist
Hazardous Materials

Today is the day to boost your career! Pinchin is seeking a Senior Project Technologist to join our Hazardous Materials in our Waterloo office.
Reporting to the Team Leader, the Senior Project Technologist will assist in developing various types of hygiene, health and safety documentation, prepare technical reports and liaise with clients to ensure their needs and goals are met.
You will be in the company of both long-term staff and those who are new to the team, all of whom can provide guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise. We’re looking for a bright and eager individual, someone who is ready to contribute to our growth.
A Day in the life of a Sr. Project Technologist at Pinchin:
Perform hazardous materials assessments on all types of buildings and structures- Conduct on-Site field reviews during demolition or removal of hazardous materials
- Perform mould, indoor air quality, water loss, microbial, Legionella, and infection control investigations
- Prepare reports, putting assessment findings into words and recommending actions for our clients
- Liaise between clients and contractors; maintaining existing client relationships and building new ones
- Schedule field reviews with clients and contractors
- Assist in preparation of proposals for hazardous materials investigations and abatement work
- Assist in overseeing hazardous materials consulting projects, including assessments, contract preparation, and abatement work
- Perform mould, indoor air quality, water loss, microbial, Legionella, and infection control investigations
- Collect and interpret various environmental samples, including air samples and PCM analysis;
- Manage time on projects effectively and efficiently
- Ensure the well-being and safety of workers and building occupants where Pinchin projects are present
What you bring to the Pinchin team:
A diploma or degree in Construction Technology or Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, Bachelor of Science or Applied Science- Three to five years of practical experience in the field of Hazardous Materials (Asbestos, Mould, Lead, PCBs, etc.) and Indoor Environmental Quality
- Hazardous Materials and Indoor Environmental Quality experience
- C.E.T. or related designations will be considered an asset
- Knowledge of environmental and health and safety legislation/guidelines
- Familiarity with building systems (structure, envelope, HVAC, electrical, plumbing etc.)
- Experience reading and interpreting architectural drawings
- Experience working with environmental monitoring equipment
- Strong communication and organizational skills with an ability to follow detailed instructions
- Excellent technical report writing skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products
- Availability to work outside our core business hours and rotational weekends
- Vehicle, valid driver’s license, and insurance as travel around the designated region is required
- Employees may be required by our clients to undergo security clearances and/or drug and alcohol testing to gain access to certain job sites
