Job Description The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) is responsible for the safe, reliable, and economic planning and operation of the Alberta Interconnected Electric System. We provide open and non-discriminatory access to Alberta’s interconnected power grid and also facilitate Alberta’s competitive wholesale electricity market. The AESO Customer Grid Access team is responsible for fulfilling this part of the AESO’s mandate. The Project Management team is an integral group which is responsible for the daily coordination of internal project resources, market participants and transmission facility owners to deliver customer projects in accordance with the AESO’s Connection Process.Projects are executed in a matrix structure, where the functional team members have been assigned to project execution teams. These teams are led by Project Managers who are accountable for the project decision-making and delivery, ensuring appropriate customer support and meeting committed project objectives and milestones.As the Project Manager, you can be a solo lead of a project or part of a cross functional team on a larger project and are responsible for the team and task management required to deliver a project. You are required to make decisions on behalf of the project and the AESO. Your role is expected to use a consultative approach to making decisions, which includes identifying risks and gathering input from both internal and external stakeholders. As the leader of a project team, you manage the daily team priorities, collaboration, chemistry and project delivery performance.This full-time opportunity offers a competitive salary, and a variable pay program.
