We are currently seeking a Project Manager to assist ARC with our ERP (SAP S/4 HANA) Implementation Project. This full-time, 18-month contract position will be a key contributor in the Project Management and Change Management Office of the project and will be primarily responsible for stewarding the overall program. As the Project Manager you will oversee all phases of the implementation project lifecycle, from discovery and planning to post go-live support. You will provide leadership direction and manage the budget assigned to the project and the project schedule, as well as provide direction on project planning and execution.
You will work closely with the program leadership to realize program objectives of scalability, automation, and standardization, while holding to the project's guiding principles. The Project Manager will be responsible for guiding a team that includes but is not limited to Technical Architect, Solution Architect, and additional roles from a third-party Service Integrator (SI). You will be a key point of contact responsible to represent ARC and manage the relationship with our SI, and third-party Quality Assurance/Risk Advisor.
Responsibilities:
- Define deliverable acceptance criteria and key milestone dates with the SI
- Establish the organizational and contractual framework for project delivery
- Manage a comprehensive view of expected costs including software and internal and external services
- Develop a project charter to ensure all project sponsors and stakeholders are in alignment
- Develop a detailed project plan to track progress, encompassing all workstreams
- Oversee ERP implementation activities through all phases of the project lifecycle
- Coordinate internal and external resources (SI, QA partners) to execute the project, within scope, on time and on budget
- Ensure resource availability and allocation
- Manage changes in scope, schedule, and costs
- Consider alternate delivery approaches such as rollout strategies, tools, and methodologies during implementation to optimize delivery
- Continuously identify process optimization opportunities and works towards increasing automation
- Supervise critical path activities and solve problems or escalate to the steering committee as needed
- Manage and drives all project reviews including status reports and steering committee meetings across different levels of the organization
- Work with the Change Management and Communications team to garner support for the objectives, guiding principles, and expected outcomes of the project with the broader enterprise
- Develop a change management/organizational readiness approach in partnership with the Organizational Change Management team and the Project Management Office
- Communicate a clear vision of the project objectives and motivate the teams to achieve results
- Coordinate with other workstream leaders on scheduling and other administrative tasks
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, system analysis or a related field of study
- A minimum of 8 years of experience managing large-scale, complex IT projects, business transformations, or systems implementations with a track record of success (on-time, on-budget, goals met)
- Experience leading full-lifecycle ERP implementations, and experience with SAP S/4 HANA would be an asset
- Prefer strong domain knowledge and delivery experience in at least one of the following capability areas – Finance & Accounting, Production & Revenue Accounting, Cash & Treasury, Human Resources, Sourcing & Procurement, or Enterprise Asset Management
- Experience in scoping, planning, and delivering ERP projects as a Lead or Project Manager
- Deep knowledge and understanding of project management approaches, tool sets, and techniques for gaining the cooperation and support of stakeholders
- Experience with various delivery methodologies including agile
- Certified Project Management Professional or equivalent formal certification is preferred
- Experience working with the energy and resources industry would be preferred
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic leadership in planning and organization
- Excellent customer-oriented service skills to manage senior management and business unit stakeholders
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills including effective negotiation abilities
