R&D Project Manager Job Description
Beyond Energy is seeking an R&D Project Manager to join our team in our downtown Calgary, Alberta Office.
This is a unique opportunity to work for a company that is rapidly growing. We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual who will plan and implement projects, specifically new product development and upgrades, and keep them on schedule from start to completion. This includes managing the activities listed in the project timelines and monitoring the output of all project participants (including, co-workers, manufacturers, developers and consultants.
Types of projects may include:
- Technical development of new products
- Technical upgrades to existing products
- Resolution of technical issues in existing products
Responsibilities
- Research and Development Project Management. Develop project scope, budgets, and timelines, and project status reports.
- Manage projects to strategies, budgets, and timelines.
- Work collaboratively with cross functional teams including personnel in Quality Assurance, Marketing, Purchasing, Operations, and Finance on new product development and to resolve product technical issues.
- Participate in the selection of providers and manufacturers for specific project needs.
- Lead collaboration on technical projects and technical product development.
- Coordinate plant trials and new product start-ups.
- Work with Operations to perform field trials and troubleshoot technical issues during pilot plant runs.
- Coordinate product feedback from different departments within the organization.
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering, or related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years R&D related experience in technical projects
- Knowledge/Experience in Oil and Gas Projects
- Experience in product development and project management.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Documented ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Strong documentation, organization and time management skills.
- Creative and out-of-the-box thinker.
Familiarity with:
- Software coding experience.
- Siemes (or similiar PLC programming).
- 3D modelling/drafting.
- AutoCAD, Inventor, Solidworks, etc.
