POSITION
We are currently seeking a Project Manager to join our industry leading construction team in our Vancouver office!
A Fossil Project Manager is a disciplined and organized professional that drives the overall success of large and complex landscape projects from its inception to final completion. They are responsible for planning and executing all aspects of the project with a focus on schedule, quality and budget. Project Managers also share in the overall responsibility of the sustainable, long term success of Fossil.
The ideal candidate is someone who is detail oriented, passionate about construction, a problem solver at heart and organized by nature. They must have demonstrated excellent knowledge in all aspects of hardscape and softscape installation and have strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written and listening).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Successful execution of complex projects from conception to completion
- Point of contact for client, consultants, trades, suppliers and site supervisor.
- Develop and maintain project schedule ensuring the required resources – crew, materials, equipment and sub-trades – are ready for efficient execution of the work.
- Ensure project is constructed to the highest quality and in compliance with drawings, specifications, engineering and relevant codes.
- Proactively seek and obtain required information in advance from consultants/builders, anticipate potential issues and overcome obstacles
- Build a high level of confidence and comfort with client, builder and consultants through regular communication and responding to requests with thorough, productive information in timely fashion.
- Provide technical guidance and support to site activities.
- Plan, initiate and approve purchasing requisitions, subcontracts and invoice payments.
- Accurate project finance administration with thorough review of invoice packages and proactive management of construction budgets notifying stakeholders of any changes.
- Ensure Health & Safety practices are being followed on all sites and contribute to the advancement of a safe working environment.
- Demonstrate leadership by creating a productive environment which supports job satisfaction and encourages personal growth for all team members.
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience managing all aspects of large landscape construction projects.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Construction, Landscape Design, Construction Management, PMP designation or comparable experience
- Successful budgeting and scheduling experiences
- Proficiency with MS Office applications and Smartsheets
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and execute in an effective and efficient manner
