Login to your McGill Workday account and apply to this posting using the Find Jobs report (type Find Jobs in the search bar).The Project Manager, Healthy Brains, Healthy Lives (HBHL), is responsible for providing project management and operational support to HBHL, a ten-year large-scale interdisciplinary research program in neurosciences involving multiple partner organizations in Canada and internationally. Working closely and reporting to the HBHL Managing Director, the Project Manager will support calls for proposals, track key performance indicators and help develop HBHL budgets. The Project Manager will also act as the lead on ensuring HBHL meets its performance measurement objectives related to support to research trainees and new faculty recruits and HBHL’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan.Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the project management, implementation and tracking of the full range of HBHL initiatives, including research/peer review, talent, training, business development/philanthropy, sustainability, internal and external collaboration, and partnership programs.
- Provide expertise to develop HBHL funding programs and calls for proposals; manage adjudication processes associated with funding decisions, including peer review processes; administer research funding; develop research performance reporting tools, including tools and databases that track progress, project outputs, outcomes and impacts; maintain systems to evaluate and generate decision-support data for research and/or project progress and performance against Board-approved milestones.
- Lead the development and delivery of information sessions, professional development and proposal development workshops, reports and presentations as appropriate to ensure criteria, guidelines and reporting requirements and processes are well understood by applicants, and that applications are complete and are aligned with HBHL goals and objectives, including those included in HBHL’s EDI Action Plan.
- Manage and guide external peer review processes, collate feedback and provide reports to support HBHL Research Management Committee (RMC), Training Program Committee and EDI Committee decision-making.
- Lead the development and dissemination of print and electronic communications, marketing and promotion, and partnership development and engagement strategies associated with the HBHL initiative.
- Provide advice to HBHL participants whose research results have commercialization and/or knowledge mobilization potential.
Other Qualifying Skills And/Or Abilities:A minimum of five years' experience in project and program development, implementation, management, and administration in the private or public sector. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated ability to manage projects involving the negotiation and execution of agreements and contracts among multiple researchers, institutions, and partners. Function with an exceptional level of accuracy, strategic judgment, and efficiency. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French. Ability to produce/oversee production of a range of high-quality materials including reports, meeting minutes, and project summaries. Self-motivated, with strong organizational skills, able to effectively prioritize a wide range of responsibilities. Ability to perform as a productive team member in the context of complex inter-related projects and teams. Able to meet tight deadlines and demonstrate a high level of professionalism in working with internal and external teams, partner organizations and stakeholders to achieve specific outcomes.Connaissance du français et de l'anglais.
