POSITION:
We are looking for a Project Management Office Leader. (PMO) This role is part of the leadership team that serves longer term objectives to drive business improvements and contributions to the bottom line.
JOB SUMMARY:
The PMO (Project Management Office) Lead is responsible to lead projects and or cross functional teams representing areas of our business such as sales, engineering, operations, purchasing, etc. through regular project update meetings and gate meetings to accomplish large project initiatives to improve our business competitiveness.
KEY DUTIES:
- Develop and mature a robust project planning and gate process that can ensure successful proposals, evaluation, and execution of key projects. (Large- and small-scale frameworks)
- Always be thinking about and considering white paper type proposals to improve cost and operational efficiencies. Business analysis, with a long-term view of an ideal state.
- Manage the successful and on time launch of large and sometimes high capital themes that impact the company’s competitiveness and or efficiencies.
- Lead and manage individual project leaders if assigned to the Project Management Office.
- Responsible for planning and managing all required tasks in collaboration with cross functionals (if applicable) to achieve a flawless smooth launch.
- Manage (prepare, review, update on a periodic basis) project open issues list and work with stakeholders to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely completion of activities.
- Responsible for overall project planning and execution including feasibility, budget, scheduling, reporting, and managing master launch schedules including assurance of expected output and benefit.
- Develop a formal project to operations hand off process, post launch KPI tracking and project deliverable confirmation method.
- Prepare regular status updates and progress reports for company executives.
- Support capital management and tracking where applicable.
- Ensure the VP Of Manufacturing & PMO is fully briefed on the current situation in a timely manner.
DIMENSIONS OF THE POSITION:
The incumbent must possess a strong background in production equipment, assembly, and molding techniques, be knowledgeable on the various product specifications, be fully versed in quality techniques, understand validation flow, have strong computer skills mainly with Microsoft office and understand ERP. Knowledge or working capability of CAD or Solid Works would be considered an asset.
PROBLEM SOLVING RESPONSIBILITIES:
There is considerable variety and diversity in project management so these challenges will require the incumbent to possess good problem-solving skills to deal with obstacles and barriers to ensure themes stay on track.
EDUCATION:
The incumbent should possess a minimum of post-secondary education relating to management, project management or five years’ experience in manufacturing, and/or program management, and be familiar with automation and Quality Management Systems. In addition, the incumbent should have excellent organizational skills, good judgement, have strong interpersonal/team building skills, and good problem-solving ability.
