Valour Mechanical is a group of professionals, dedicated to their craft of HVAC and mechanical/plumbing. Our team is multi-faceted for different projects; there is no project that we cannot take on that is out of our scope. From our inception in 2018, we have brought together nearly 30 years of HVAC and mechanical/plumbing experience in the metropolitan area of Edmonton, Alberta.
Valour Mechanical is currently seeking a Project Manager to join our team!
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing safety, quality, risks, maximizing project earnings, jobsite staffing, client expectations, accurate financial reporting and assuring efficient, timely, fulfillment of all project obligations, complete communications to complete the project on time, within the budget and to the quality specified. The Project Manager will also be responsible for developing and fostering relationships with employees, clients, consultants, third party and sub-trades.
Job Duties:
- Provide thorough assessment of tender packages to facilitate tender requests and communication with subtrades, review and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes.
- Acquire and evaluate project drawings, documents and specifications to complete detailed mechanical/plumbing estimates, comprehensive project kick-offs and participate in the tender process of commercial projects.
- Actively participate in securing new projects.
- Develop Mechanical/plumbing estimates/budgets.
- Act as estimator for design/build proposals.
- Present budgets to clients.
- Act as primary liaison with clients, site superintendents, subtrades and other project stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, trades and suppliers.
- Plan and schedule project timelines, milestones, deliverables.
- Manage project activities throughout the duration of the project, including the distribution of adequate resources, scheduling, documentation, firm estimates and budgets.
- Complete projects on budget.
- Manage internal and /or external contractors or trades.
- Visit jobsites to monitor job progress and identify issues and concerns.
- Work closely with Business Development Manager to learn all aspects of the business management.
- Develop relationships with employees and trades to help BD Manager with performance of all individuals.
- Understand business financials and help BD Manager plan future projects, staffing needs and marketing.
Requirements:
- Technical diploma in an appropriate mechanical/plumbing-related field (CET), Engineering or equivalent mechanical/plumbing experience.
- Five or more years of experience in Commercial/residential mechanical/plumbing
- Five or more years of experience in mechanical/plumbing project management and estimating.
- Experience with successfully managing or leading teams.
- Experience with job bidding
- Mechanical/plumbing Trade Experience (Journeyman plumber or related).
- The ability to read and interpret building specifications and blueprints.
- Mathematical and analytical skills necessary to perform accurate estimates on labor, equipment, and materials.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite to write, edit and review proposal and tender documents.
- Ability to multitask, be flexible and effectively manage multiple, competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to develop and successfully maintain good working relationships with clients, subtrades, suppliers and co-workers. Active listening and conflict resolution skills are an asset.
- Detail oriented, accurate, precise and pro-active.
- Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment.
- Valid Driver’s License and a reliable mode of transportation.
