About us
Paws on Fraser Veterinary Hospital is a brand new, purpose-built, general practice companion animal hospital in the vibrant neighborhood of Mount Pleasant/Kensington-Cedar Cottage. We are two local veterinarians with over 30 years of combined experience in Vancouver.
We are a team of dedicated animal care professionals who are passionate about practicing progressive, compassionate, quality medicine. A supportive and collaborative work culture is very important to us.
Our new practice is growing and looking for a veterinary assistant/receptionist to join our team. We are looking for a compassionate individual with excellent communication and organizational skills, who has previous experience in the veterinary field and a strong comfort level in handling dogs and cats. This individual will work part of the week as our client care team receptionist and part of the week as our veterinary assistant. This is a unique opportunity to be both client-facing, and still be integral to the care of the animals.
As our veterinary hospital grows, so do the opportunities for our team. We welcome creative ideas and are open to suggestions for how our team members can contribute to the growth and success of the clinic. There are opportunities for growth in this position, such as receiving training in veterinary nutrition or Fear Free handling. Qualifications and experience:
- Previous experience working in a veterinary hospital
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Familiarity with practice management software, ideally DaySmart Vet
- A passion for animal care and a dedication to providing excellent customer service
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Comfortable handling dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments
- Willingness to learn and grow in the field of veterinary medicine
