Job Description
As a Recruiter, you will ensure our company attracts, hires and retains the very best employees, while growing a strong talent pipeline.
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources and Human Resources Manager, the successful candidate will collaborate with the HR Team and Department Managers on a regular basis and proactively identify current and future hiring needs. You will be able to attract candidates using various sources, like job postings, social media networks and employee referrals.
Responsibilities
- Source, attract and recruit candidates by using creative, out of the box thinking, databases, community contacts, social media platforms, etc.
- Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate job board/newspapers/colleges etc.
- Screen candidates, resumes and job applications
- Conduct interviews and filter candidates for open positions
- Assess applicants’ relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience and aptitudes
- Develop and update job descriptions and job specifications
- Perform job and task analysis to document job requirements and objectives
- Onboard and train new employees in order to become fully integrated
- Provide analytical and well documented recruiting reports to the rest of the team
- Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process
- Apply HR recruiting best practices
- Track employee attendance; scheduling, sick calls, no calls, late arrivals, leave of absence and facilitating return to work according to company policy guidelines
- Act as a first point of contact for employees in the HR office, conducting initial meeting and screening to determine if next level support is required.
- Learn and complete weekly payroll process for employees (hourly, salary and temporary labour) in the absence of the payroll and benefit coordinator
- Assist with Performance Reviews, Performance Improvement Plans, Progressive Discipline when required
- Promote company’s reputation as “best place to work"
Requirements
- Proven ability to conduct different types of interviews (screening or telephone, structured, behavioral based, competency-based, small group, virtual, etc)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong decision-making skills
- Solid time management and record keeping skills
- Demonstrated computer skills; excel, email, various social media platforms, etc.
