Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Marketing Recruitment and Communications the Indigenous Student Recruitment Officer acts as the primary Indigenous recruitment personnel for the Recruitment team. The Indigenous Student Recruitment Officer is responsible for advancing Indigenous student enrolment at the College through active promotion, recruitment, and liaison with Indigenous schools, organizations, communities, and peoples. They are also responsible for training and liaising with a team of Indigenous Recruitment Ambassadors who will be located throughout the region. This position assists in the implementation and evaluation of College-wide recruiting and conversion plans and related activities targeted at secondary students and adult learners in local, provincial, and out-of-province markets with a strong focus on Indigenous communities and Indigenous specific recruitment events. The position is responsible for and to both recruitment targets, action plans, and operations and also the Indigenous Student Success portfolio targets and action plans. The incumbent works closely with the Manager of Marketing, Recruitment & Communications to ensure coordination of promotion, recruitment, and conversion activities.

Diploma in marketing, human services or related discipline with an emphasis on marketing planning, public speaking, or career counselling.

Minimum of three (3) years
Type of Experience
Minimum three years of practical work experience within an Indigenous community or Aboriginal organization. Knowledge or experience recruiting for a post-secondary institution. The incumbent should have strong interpersonal and human relation skills, demonstrated helping and attending skills, excellent communication and organizational skills, superior knowledge of College programs and services, demonstrated ability with computer applications including word processing, database, spreadsheets and presentation hardware and software
